WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Winter Haven Fire Department personnel successfully battled a significant residential fire on Foxboro Lane SW late this afternoon. Although the home sustained extensive damage, the residence was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
The Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:29 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and fire visible from the structure. Initial reports indicate the fire originated in the kitchen area and rapidly spread, extending into the dining room, living room, and the home’s attic spaces.

Firefighters immediately launched an aggressive interior attack. They were supported by Polk County Fire Rescue through an automatic aid agreement, and together they were able to bring the fire under control.
The residence is home to two adults and three children. Fortunately, they were not present when the fire broke out. Due to the significant fire and smoke damage to the property, the family has been displaced. The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide assistance to the affected residents.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Winter Haven Fire Department.
