Boca Raton Man Arrested After Violent Standoff, Facing Multiple Charges Including Threats to Law Enforcement
MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Boca Raton, Florida man was arrested in Conch Key on Saturday, following a volatile incident where he allegedly barricaded himself inside a residence and threatened to kill responding Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
The suspect, identified as Damian Key Reynolds, was taken into custody after Deputies made entry into the home. He has been charged with threats to a law enforcement officer, burglary, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
The Sheriff’s Office was initially dispatched to a trespasser complaint at approximately 9:42 p.m. in the 62000 block of the Overseas Highway. The property owner informed authorities that while he knew Reynolds, the suspect did not have permission to be on the property.
Upon confrontation, Reynolds reportedly became aggressive, falsely claiming to be the property owner. He then allegedly retreated into the residence and told the Deputies that he would “shoot and kill them” if they did not leave the premises.
Deputies eventually gained entry and arrested Reynolds without further incident. Authorities noted that Reynolds has an extensive criminal history. He was subsequently transported to jail following his arrest.
