Body Of Missing 88-Year-Old Plant City Man Found

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – On August 13, 2021, Christopher McCullough, 88, who had been missing since July 23, 2021, was located deceased in a field near his residence.

“Since the morning Mr. McCullough was last seen, his family, volunteers, and HCSO personnel searched several areas on multiple occasions looking for him,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are heartbroken at this outcome, and will keep all those who knew and loved Mr. McCullough in our thoughts during this difficult time.”

Detectives are currently working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. There are no obvious signs of foul play.

Christopher McCullough, 88, was last seen at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021. McCullogh has dementia, and Atrial Fibrillation, and can only hear with a hearing aid. He is overdue for his medication.

“We are doing everything we can to return Mr. McCullogh home safely to his family,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister said at the time. “Our Aviation Unit, Dive Team, K-9 Unit, Drone Operators, and patrol deputies have been working to find him, but we are asking if anyone in the community sees Mr. McCullogh, please contact us immediately.”
