Border Czar Homan Rips Hochul’s Radical Anti-ICE Law, Warns Massive Federal Surge In NYC

The Trump administration has finalized a major operational plan to flood New York City with a massive surge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel, dealing a direct blow to New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s efforts to shield illegal immigrants from federal law.

White House Border Czar Tom Homan announced the upcoming deployment on Fox News on Monday, revealing that he had explicitly warned Governor Hochul of the consequences before she signed a controversial bill late last month. The state law severely restricts federal immigration operations and bans masked ICE agents within New York.

“You’re going to see more ICE than you’ve ever seen in New York City, and it’s coming,” Homan warned during the broadcast. “I just reviewed an operational plan. I’m not going to tell you exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s coming.”

While the administration has previously threatened to ramp up enforcement to protect the city, this marks the most definitive step toward executing the aggressive law-and-order tactics already deployed in other Democrat-led jurisdictions.

Homan stated that he privately told Hochul he would saturate the city with field agents if state policies continued to block ICE from arresting dangerous individuals already held in local police custody. He reiterated that when sanctuary cities refuse to cooperate with federal immigration detainers, agents are forced to conduct more visible, community-wide sweeps to keep the public safe.

The impending enforcement surge comes amid ongoing left-wing protests at an immigration detention center in neighboring New Jersey, as well as a dangerous political climate fueled by anti-enforcement rhetoric.

During a separate weekend appearance on Lara Trump’s show, My View, Homan linked this hostile political rhetoric to a severe breakdown in safety for federal workers, revealing that extreme attacks from the left have triggered a staggering 8,000% spike in death threats against ICE officers.

Homan forcefully defended his agents against baseless allegations of racial profiling raised by Democratic lawmakers during recent congressional testimony for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

“I’m an equal opportunity deporter,” Homan said. “I don’t care what color they are or what country they’re from.”

Homan noted that ICE agents enforce the law uniformly, having deported individuals to 161 different nations, including various Asian and European countries. However, he argued that when prominent politicians use reckless characterizations, it directly incites violence against law enforcement personnel.

“When you keep using those [terms] — the Nazi, secret police, racist [claims] — that instills violence,” Homan stated, adding that such rhetoric empowers “the small percentage of people on the left who are already nuts” to make threats on agents’ lives.

The escalating conflict follows a wave of extreme statements from high-profile Democrats since the administration returned to the White House. Last fall, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker compared federal immigration raids to Nazi Germany, and Massachusetts Representative Ayanna Pressley drew a highly criticized comparison between ICE personnel and the Ku Klux Klan.
