Tensions between federal immigration authorities and local law enforcement in Philadelphia boiled over with Border Czar Tom Homan issuing a rebuttal to Sheriff Rochelle Bilal’s threat to arrest ICE agents operating in her jurisdiction.

The war of words began Thursday when Sheriff Bilal, appearing alongside Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, issued a warning to federal agents following the fatal shooting of Renee Good during an ICE operation in Minneapolis.

“You don’t want this smoke, because we will bring it to you,” Bilal said during a news conference, pledging to work with the DA to prosecute agents who commit crimes in the city. “Nobody will whisk you off.”

Homan responded directly to the threats on Monday during an appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” dismissing the sheriff’s warning and doubling down on the agency’s mandate.

“She can bring the smoke, we’ll bring the fire,” Homan said. “We’re going to continue doing this job. I don’t know who she is or why a law enforcement official who took a sworn oath to enforce the laws and protect her communities would not want to work with ICE who are out there arresting the worst of the worst.”

Homan argued that ICE operations are critical for public safety, citing a recent enforcement surge in Minnesota that resulted in the arrests of individuals accused of “horrendous crimes,” including child rape and sodomy.

“We’re taking public safety threats out of her jurisdiction… so you’re welcome,” Homan added. “We’re coming for them. We’re going to keep doing what we’re doing.”

The friction comes in the wake of the death of 37-year-old Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last Wednesday. RELATED: New Graphic POV Video Released In Deadly Minneapolis ICE Shooting

While Democrats have characterized the incident as murder, the Trump administration maintains the agent acted in self-defense after Good allegedly accelerated her vehicle toward agents surrounding her car.
