Border Czar Tom Homan revealed on Tuesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross has gone into hiding following the fatal shooting of Renee Good, citing severe threats to the agent’s life and the safety of his family.

Speaking during an appearance on “Will Cain Country,” Homan painted a grim picture of the environment surrounding the investigation. He confirmed that Ross, who was involved in the high-profile shooting last Wednesday, has been targeted by what Homan described as a campaign of intimidation.

“I think things are so bad now, Will… for this agent that was involved in the shooting, I think he’s going to wait for this investigation to play itself out and wait for them to come out with actual facts,” Homan told host Will Cain.

The disclosure comes just days after the Daily Mail reported that a federal Special Response Team swarmed Ross’ Minneapolis residence on Friday, removing various belongings as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Homan stated that the threats against Ross have escalated rapidly, moving beyond online rhetoric to physical danger. He noted witnessing a “wanted for murder” poster featuring Ross’s picture while on his way to the studio.

“It’s beyond the pale,” Homan said. When pressed by Cain to confirm if the agent was physically in hiding, Homan was direct.

“Yes. For the safety of him and his family. I mean, there are wanted posters with his picture, his license plate number. And the death threats against him and his family.”

The conversation also touched on the potential for future legal action. After Cain suggested that federal agents should consider suing prominent figures for defamation, Homan agreed that Ross might take such steps once the official investigation concludes.

The identity of the agent became public knowledge partly due to inadvertent details released by top officials in President Donald Trump’s administration. By mentioning that the agent involved had previously been dragged by a vehicle during a pursuit in June 2025, officials helped journalists corroborate Ross’s identity.

The shooting itself remains a flashpoint of national controversy. Ross shot Good on Wednesday after she allegedly accelerated her vehicle abruptly during a confrontation with agents. While Democrats have characterized the incident as murder, the Trump administration has steadfastly maintained that Ross acted in self-defense.
