Border Czar Tom Homan launched a scathing attack on California Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing him of a lack of “integrity” for his criticism of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In a heated exchange on “America’s Newsroom,” Homan called the governor an “embarrassment” and pledged to continue the crackdown on illegal immigrants with criminal records in California.

Newsom recently accused ICE of acting as a “private police force” with an allegiance to the president over the U.S. Constitution.

Homan dismissed the accusation, stating, “If he had an ounce of integrity, if [Los Angeles Mayor] Karen Bass had an ounce of integrity, they’d be thanking President Trump for making California safe again.” He emphasized that ICE agents are not going anywhere and will continue their work to make the state safer.

According to Homan, ICE has made approximately 200,000 arrests and deported around 350,000 illegal immigrant criminals since the beginning of the current administration. He challenged Newsom to “just sit back and watch” as federal agents “make his state safe again.”

Homan’s comments come as a recent DHS report revealed that U.S. Border Patrol and ICE have made 5,000 arrests in Los Angeles alone since an operation began in June. These arrests, Homan noted, have targeted gang members, child predators, murderers, and other dangerous individuals.

The exchange marks the latest chapter in a long-standing feud between Newsom and federal immigration authorities. Newsom has previously criticized the administration for its immigration policies, even going so far as to label the president “scum” after a raid on a marijuana farm. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass signed a sanctuary order in July, which restricts local officials from cooperating with ICE.
