Bradenton Motorcyclist Dead After Midnight Spill And Collision On US 19

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – A midnight crash in Manatee County claimed the life of a 57-year-old Bradenton man on April 19. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the fatal incident occurred on US 19, just west of Hightower Road, involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

According to the official FHP synopsis, the motorcyclist was heading east in the left lane when he lost control of his vehicle.

The motorcycle moved onto the shoulder and overturned, throwing the driver from the bike.

Shortly after the initial wreck, a 39-year-old man from St. Petersburg, driving an eastbound SUV, struck the motorcyclist as he lay in the roadway.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the collision.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators, Trooper C. Rivera and Corporal C. Davidson, are currently handling the case, and the crash remains under investigation.
