Jeep crosses median, collides with stopped semi-truck; tractor-trailer driver sustains minor injuries.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.- A 46-year-old Brandon woman was seriously injured Thursday morning after a high-speed crash on US-301, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m., involved a Jeep Wrangler and a tractor-trailer.
FHP officials said the woman was driving a Jeep Wrangler northbound on US-301, south of SR-574, at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle.
The Jeep crossed the median and collided with a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the outside southbound shoulder.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 58-year-old man from Altamonte Springs, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
