BREAKING: Derek Chauvin Found Guilty On All Charges By Jury In Death Of George Floyd

A verdict has been reached in the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin.

On the three charges Chauvin was found guilty.

The 12 jurors found him guilty of:

  • Second-degree Unintentional Murder
  • Third-degree Murder
  • Second-degree Manslaughter

The maximum sentence for second-degree unintentional murder is imprisonment of not more than 40 years. The maximum sentence for third-degree murder is imprisonment of not more than 25 years. The maximum sentence for second-degree manslaughter is 10 years and- or $20,000.

Jurors deliberated for four hours on Monday and resumed deliberating this morning at 8 a.m. CT (9 a.m. EST). The court did not specify in the notice when jurors stopped deliberating today.

Chauvin had pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chauvin was handcuffed and taken into custody.
