BREAKING NEWS: 911 Services Suffer Interuptions in Multiple States

U.S. BREAKING NEWS – Calls to 911 went unanswered for many Monday night as dozens of cities reported outages as originally posted by Austin Williams, Fox 29 Philadelphia Digital Team.

FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel released this statement on Twitter during the outage, “The one system we need to work all the time is 911. The FCC needs to get to the bottom of this now and figure out what is going on.” 

In Arizona, Yavapi, Cochise and Pima counties and Flagstaff experienced issues and provided a different 10-digit number.

The Tucson Police Department reported 911 issues in the news and social media. “911 services are down in the City of Tucson. If you need to make an emergency call, dial 520-372-8011. We will let you know when 911 is back online,” Tucson Police said in a tweet.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada tweeted about its 911 service interruption and rerouted calls to another number.  

Other areas suffering from the same issues include: Delaware State Police Dispatch Centers (Newark, Upper Darby Place; Grass Valley Police Department near Sacramento, CA, reported problems with landlines and cell phones.  

Reports are still coming in and incident information is being gathered.  The cause of these interruptions is currently unknown.  Outage times ranged from approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
