HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.- UPDATED STORY, CLICK HERE. Hillsborough County Sheriff announced moments ago, that with collaborative efforts by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Highway Patrol, Plant City Police Department, and Tampa Police Department led to the arrest of multiple individuals following the fatal shooting on Interstate 4.
The victim, a 17-year-old male, had been shot and later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. There were two other juveniles in the car with the victim at the time of the shooting.
Eastbound I-4 was shut down from McIntosh Road to Branch Forbes Road while detectives canvassed a two-mile stretch of the interstate searching for evidence.
Sheriff Chad Chronister will share details regarding the arrests at a press conference at 3 p.m. on Monday.
