TAMPA, Fla. – Bruce Arians has Super Bowl Rings but says his family’s fight to help kids that are neglected and abused is much bigger.

“It means the world to us, like I said in the past, watching her (his wife Christine) save these kids’ lives, one at a time, it’s way bigger than football,” Arians said. “Way bigger than football to have that type of impact on a child. To give them hope, it means way more than winning a football game to me.”

The Arians Family Foundation’s motto is “A Voice For Children.” Their cause is to support and develop programs to prevent and help change the abuse and neglect of children. The Arians family has done this in communities they’ve lived in during Bruce’s football coaching career.

It all started when Bruce’s wife, Christine worked in family law and the cases of kids being neglected and abused just tore her up. To this day, she still gets emotional when talking about it.

“It’s crazy because I’ve been involved for almost 25 years,” Christine said. “Unfortunately, there are more kids in the system. More kids needing help. it’s all about the kids, and we can’t say no.”

Bruce is encouraging senior citizens to volunteer their time, and he guarantees those that get involved will end up getting more out of the experience than the children.

“We need more volunteers,” Arians said. “This is to raise money to teach those volunteers and get them into the homes. I beg our seniors, I know you’re bored. It doesn’t take all your time. What better person to help and be a positive influence in a child’s life than a grandparent, who’s been there and done it. Can walk these kids through that minefield to the positive side of their life.”

“Just check into it and you can do it as a couple,” Arians said. “Two women, two men, whatever it is, you can do it together and you’ll get more out of it and you’ll get more out of it than the child will.”
