TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles doesn’t sound as confident as to when quarterback Tom Brady will return to the team.

Bowles told the media last week after a joint practice against the Dolphins, that Brady was taking a pre-planned leave but expected him to return after Tennessee.

The Bucs play the Titans in preseason game number 2 in Nashville Saturday night, but as of now, Bowles doesn’t have a definitive date for a Brady return.

“We’ll talk about it next week,” Bowles said Thursday in Nashville after 2 days of practicing against the Titans.

“I’m not concerned about it right now. We’re trying to practice against Tennessee and play in a game. I said sometime after Tennessee. There’s no definitive date for me. We’ll keep in touch and find out.”

Remember Brady already retired once after the NFC Divisional loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Brady at the time said he wanted to experience other things and spend more time with his family.

Brady came back after only a month and has been showing off his strong arm this training camp. Bowles was asked if Brady is watching film of these joint practices and talking with the Bucs coaches.

“We just worry about our practice with Tennessee,” Bowles said. Tom’s not involved with the coaches. We practice on our own.

2nd year QB Kyle Trask took the bulk of the snaps in the first preseason game against the Dolphins. Expect more of that Saturday night against the Titans.

Blaine Gabbert for now is the starter until Brady comes back.
