POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A traffic stop in Lakeland on Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of two Sarasota County residents, including a 68-year-old woman found carrying over 55 grams of fentanyl.
Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a gray Honda HR-V on July 28 near West Memorial Boulevard and Red Devil Way. The driver, 63-year-old Marc Kidwell of North Port, was pulled over for driving on a suspended license and placed under arrest.
During the stop, deputies noted that the passenger, 68-year-old Cynthia Lee Green of Rotonda West, was acting nervously and attempting to conceal a large bulge in her pocket.
When a deputy asked about the bulge, Green removed two plastic bags containing 55.90 grams of fentanyl and 2.14 grams of cocaine.
Green was arrested and faces charges of first-degree felony trafficking in fentanyl, third-degree felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both Kidwell and Green were transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center for booking.
