U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds and his newly announced running mate, state Sen. Bryan Avila, launched a multi-city campaign tour across Florida following a kickoff event at Miami’s Freedom Tower.
The tour included stops in Miami, Sanford, and St. Petersburg. During the events, the ticket outlined a platform centered on lowering living costs, addressing property taxes, and preserving economic opportunities across the state. The campaign framed Florida as a destination for individuals and families relocating from socialist regimes.
The opening event took place at the Freedom Tower, a landmark long recognized for its historical ties to Cuban refugees arriving in the United States.
Avila, the son of Cuban exiles, serves as a captain in the Florida National Guard and has served more than a decade in the Florida Legislature, where his legislative work focused on property tax policy and conservative measures.
“Bryan Avila is a military officer and dedicated public servant who has spent his career fighting to defend freedom and cut costs,” Donalds said in a statement. “He is also the son of Cuban exiles — this is a man who understands the Florida Dream and why we must defend it. I’m proud to have him by my side.”
The tour marks the ticket’s first coordinated statewide swing to meet directly with voters in South Florida, Central Florida, and the Tampa Bay region.
