Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds traveled through four Northeast Florida counties today as part of his “Defending the Florida Dream Tour,” rolling out a new education initiative and holding multiple campaign events.
The day began in Duval County at Jacksonville University, where Donalds unveiled his “Read to Succeed” proposal. The literacy plan is designed to ensure that every student in Florida is reading at grade level by the third grade.
Following the Jacksonville stop, Donalds held a rally in Lake Butler in Union County. His remarks there centered on inflation and affordability, parental rights, and the state’s economy. The tour then headed to Columbia County for an event focused on the economic pressures currently facing families in North Florida.
Donalds concluded the multi-county push in Hamilton County, delivering the keynote address at the Hamilton County Lincoln Reagan Dinner in Jasper.
Campaign staff pointed to the heavy single-day schedule as a defining feature of their strategy moving forward.
“After four counties in a single day, the message couldn’t be clearer: no one in this race is outworking Byron Donalds, and it isn’t close,” Campaign Press Secretary Skylar Swanson said. “He’s going to earn this victory the same way he’s running this campaign, by outworking everyone in the field. Come November, Floridians will have a clear choice: a tireless conservative fighter who will keep Florida the #1 state in the nation, or Democrat extremists pushing the same radical agenda that has run every blue state into the ground. Florida isn’t going backward, and voters will make that clear when they elect Byron Donalds as our next governor.”
