Byron Donalds Campaign Rips Graham Over Education Platform In Florida Governor’s Race

Democratic lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Gwen Graham announced that she plans to make public education a central focus of the Jolly-Graham campaign for governor.

Graham, who is running alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Jolly, stated that she wants “to make public education a central issue in the Jolly-Graham campaign for governor”. Graham previously served as the assistant secretary of education for legislation and congressional affairs in the Biden administration.

Following the announcement, the campaign for Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds issued a statement criticizing Graham’s past record on education policies.

Gates McGavick, the communications director for the Byron Donalds for Governor campaign, released a statement opposing the Democratic ticket’s platform.

“As a member of Joe Biden’s education regime, Gwen Graham tried to destroy school choice and fought to let boys in girls’ sports and girls’ bathrooms,” McGavick said. “The Jolly-Graham ticket’s extremism on education is a clear example of their disconnect with Florida voters — school choice champion Byron Donalds will defeat them soundly in November.”

The general election for the Florida gubernatorial race will take place in November.
