U.S. Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds today announced a significant second wave of endorsements from thirteen additional Florida sheriffs, further solidifying his position as the “law-and-order candidate” in the race for Governor.
With this announcement, Donalds, who has been endorsed by President Donald Trump, has now secured the backing of 28 Florida sheriffs, representing nearly half of the state’s Republican sheriffs.
The campaign highlighted that this widespread support “further cements Donalds’ as the law-and-order candidate for Governor.”
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson, a former President of the Florida Sheriffs Association, voiced strong support for Donalds. “Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds is a leader who understands what it takes to keep Florida safe. He’s unapologetically pro-law enforcement and has the backbone to stand up for what’s right,” Sheriff Adkinson stated.
He praised Donalds’ consistent support for law enforcement: “As a former President of the Florida Sheriffs Association, I’ve seen firsthand how critical it is to have a Governor who respects the men and women who wear the badge… As Governor, I know Byron will back the blue, protect our families, and make sure Florida remains a place where law and order come first.”
Baker County Sheriff Scotty Rhoden echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Donalds’ conservative leadership and alignment with President Donald Trump’s endorsement.
“I’ve seen what real leadership looks like, and Byron Donalds has it,” said Sheriff Rhoden. “President Trump’s endorsement says it all: Byron is the proven conservative leader Florida needs. He’s never wavered in his support for law enforcement or the values that keep our communities safe.”
Sheriff Rhoden added that as Governor, Donalds “will stand with the men and women on the front lines, defend our freedoms, and make sure Florida remains a state where law and order prevail. I’m proud to stand with Byron Donalds for Governor.”
