The political action committee supporting Republican candidate Byron Donalds has launched a seven-figure statewide media campaign targeting primary rival David Jolly ahead of the 2026 Florida gubernatorial election.
The political action committee, Friends of Byron Donalds, rolled out the spot titled “Agenda” across broadcast television, streaming services, and digital platforms across the state.
The advertisement focuses on differing positions between the two candidates regarding gender-affirming medical care for minors and transgender participation in high school and college athletics.
The commercial features clips of Jolly discussing his support for gender-affirming medical treatments for minors as well as his views on athletic policies. Text overlaid in the advertisement labels Jolly as “radically liberal, radically wrong.”
In the final moments of the broadcast, Donalds addresses viewers directly on the campaign trail, stating, “The only way you defeat crazy is you stand up to it.”
The ad buy marks one of the largest single-campaign media investments in the final stretch of the primary contest. Representatives for Donalds’ PAC said the campaign aims to highlight contrasts in the candidates’ legislative records and policy visions for Florida families.
“Byron Donalds will protect Florida children. David Jolly will put radical left politics first,” said Ryan Smith, Chairman of Friends of Byron Donalds PAC. “Byron Donalds has supported common-sense measures to protect our kids, including banning taxpayer-funding for child sex change surgeries and keeping boys out of girls’ sports and locker rooms. Radical Liberal David Jolly is upset about our ad – and he should be. It’s ‘shameful’ that he would support putting radical agendas ahead of Florida’s children. The record is clear that Byron Donalds is the governor candidate who will put Florida kids first.”
The Jolly campaign did not immediately release a formal public response following the launch of the campaign.
