A 25-year-old Marathon man faces multiple charges after deputies responded to an early morning domestic dispute on Saturday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a residence on 110th Street at around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 15, 2026. According to authorities, several bystanders intervened during a domestic incident involving 25-year-old Jikly Chantel Lopez Amaro.
During the altercation, Lopez Amaro brandished a pocketknife before the intervening individuals managed to disarm him. Video footage obtained during the investigation showed Lopez Amaro choking a victim.
Lopez Amaro was taken into custody and charged with burglary, battery, and battery by strangulation.
Officials reported that no serious injuries occurred during the incident.
