A California man is behind bars after being arrested for allegedly setting his wife of 10 years on fire last Friday, according to deputies.
Sean Hofmann, 42, was taken into custody by Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Deputies following an incident that left the woman with severe burns.
TCSO Deputies were dispatched to the 24100 Block of Avenue 120 just before 5:30 p.m. on October 10, 2025, for a medical aid call. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a woman suffering from severe burns to her face, arms, and torso.
Following a rapid investigation, deputies determined that Sean Hofmann had intentionally poured gasoline on or near the victim, causing her to ignite.
The victim was immediately flown to a nearby hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.
Hofmann was arrested without incident. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the motive for the attack. Hoffman is being held on a $1 million bond.
