ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Main Street Zephyrhills announces a call for artists for a mural on 7th Street, in downtown Zephyrhills.
The mural will be located on the South-facing wall of 5210 7th Street, a one-story white building.
Artists are asked to complete an application documenting their relevant experience and proposed concept for the mural, along with a budget not to exceed the maximum award amount of $5,000.
This mural will be an attraction for visitors and a source of pride for locals. For many, Zephyrhills is known as the “city of pure water”. While water is not the central theme of the project, an interpretation of water should be used in some form within the mural.
Proposals that pay homage to our town’s unique history while portraying it in a fresh, creative way will be favored.
Submissions will be evaluated by a Selection Committee based upon the overall quality, creativity and merit of the submitted designs.
The Selection Committee is made up of committee and Main Street Board members. Submissions from all emerging, mid-career, established and collaborations of artists are encouraged.
We seek designs that can be painted or otherwise transferred on to an outdoor, painted, brick wall. One artist or collaboration of artists will be chosen by the Selection Committee to complete the project.
Applications are due by February 26, 2021.
