Cameras Capture Brutal Attack: Tampa Woman Jailed After Tossing Dog Onto Asphalt

TAMPA, Fla. – A 33-year-old woman was arrested after police say she was caught on camera repeatedly abusing a dog in a public street.

Imania Davis was arrested by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies and now faces six counts of aggravated animal cruelty.

The incident unfolded on the night of April 30, 2026. At approximately 8:20 p.m., operators at the Real Time Crime Center were monitoring local feeds when they witnessed a woman, later identified as Davis, pick up a dog and hurl it onto the pavement.

According to investigators, Davis threw the animal twice with enough force to cause a significant impact against the asphalt. The surveillance footage also recorded her kicking the dog during the encounter.

Deputies arrived on the scene shortly after the alerts were issued. The injured animal was immediately rushed to a local veterinarian for emergency medical evaluation. Doctors confirmed the dog suffered a broken leg as a result of the trauma.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the dog is currently in stable condition and is being cared for as it recovers from its injuries.
