CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall presents the performances of Camp Broadway, an original Broadway revue featuring the work of Stephen Sondheim.

The performances will be on Thursday, June 23 at 2 pm and 7 pm and Friday, June 24 at 7 pm in the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets are on sale now.

Camp Broadway is a two week, summer-stock-style camp where Marcia. P Hoffman School of the Arts’ students created an original Broadway musical revue featuring the work of Stephen Sondheim.

The Camp Broadway performances will include songs from some of Sondheim’s most iconic musicals, including Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and more.

Camp Broadway will be directed by Chris Cavazza, who has been a student of the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts for seven years.

Cavazza, who is now pursuing a career in theater, was able to excel as an actor and director through the many classes, experiences, and private lessons offered at the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts. This summer, Cavazza will be working as an Assistant Director alongside Hoffman School of the Arts Drama Department Chair Jack Holloway for the Marcia P. Hoffman production of Into The Woods, as well as playing the main character George in the Hoffman’s production of Sunday In The Park With George.

“If I could give one piece of advice to a new student at the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts, I would definitely say soak it in like a sponge,” said Cavazza. “I think there are so many people here, so many great minds here that will help you, especially if you’re trying to be a performer in this field – they will give you so much knowledge.”
