Car Attacks And Choking Allegations: Georgia Teens Arrested After Violent Domestic Dispute

A domestic dispute in Warner Robins escalated into a series of violent attacks that ended with an 18-year-old man in jail and a pregnant teenager facing her own set of charges.

Lucas Hayden, 18, is currently held without bond at the Houston County Detention Center following an April 11 incident that police say turned life-threatening for his five-month-pregnant girlfriend.

The conflict began around noon when Warner Robins police were called to a residence regarding a fight between Hayden and 18-year-old Ja’Dyia Smith. According to arrest reports, the confrontation started with a verbal argument and the theft of a cell phone.

Witnesses, including Smith’s sister, told investigators that Smith attempted to run Hayden over with her vehicle five separate times as he tried to walk away.

The situation shifted when Hayden allegedly pulled Smith from the car, took her keys, and locked her out of the house.

Once he eventually let her back inside, the violence turned physical in the kitchen and bedroom. Police records state that Hayden dragged Smith into a bedroom where he kicked her in the stomach.

During the assault, Hayden reportedly said, “I need to kill the baby.”

Law enforcement officials further allege that Hayden used a pair of leggings to choke Smith before using his own arm to continue the strangulation.

Both individuals were arrested on April 20, over a week after the initial fight. Hayden faces several felony charges, including aggravated assault, kidnapping, and criminal damage to property.

Smith was also charged with aggravated assault for the attempt to use her vehicle as a weapon. While Hayden remains behind bars, Smith has since been released from custody.
