A 40-year-old Louisiana man is headed to prison for nearly half a century and will undergo a physical castration as part of a sentence handed down Monday.
Zachary Dewayne Doolittle entered a guilty plea to charges of aggravated crimes against nature in a case involving a young relative, according to the Bossier-Webster Parish District Attorney’s office.
The court sentenced Doolittle to 45 years behind bars. Beyond the lengthy prison term, the district attorney’s office confirmed that Doolittle will be castrated, a measure mandated by specific provisions in Louisiana law for certain high-level sex offenses.
The investigation into Doolittle revealed he performed sexual acts on a family member who was under the age of 13. Following the sentencing, District Attorney Schuyler Marvin emphasized his office’s stance on cases involving the exploitation of minors.

“My office is committed to prosecuting the predators that victimize children and will work hand-in-hand with our partners in law enforcement to protect children,” Marvin stated.
The District Attorney also credited local investigators for their role in securing the conviction. “The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office should be commended for their outstanding work in this case,” Marvin said. “They delivered us a solid investigation, and we were able to remove another sexual predator from our community.”
