New details emerge about suspect Tyler Robinson, his relationship, and the motive behind the fatal shooting of the conservative activist.
The investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has taken a new turn, as senior-level FBI officials have confirmed to Fox News Digital that the suspected assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, lived with his transgender partner.
The revelation adds a complex layer to a case within the charged landscape of political discourse.
FBI officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that Robinson was in a “romantic relationship” with the unnamed individual, a male transitioning to a female, first reported by Brooke Singman at Fox News Digital.

The two shared an apartment in Saint George, Utah, where forensic agents have been seen collecting evidence. The partner, who is said to be fully cooperating with the FBI, has not been accused of any criminal activity in connection with the assassination. According to Fox News Digital, the partner “had no idea” of Robinson’s alleged plot to kill the Turning Point USA founder.
The news comes as President Trump praised FBI Director Kash Patel for the “speedy capture” of the suspect. The FBI’s investigation was aided by text messages and other communications between Robinson and his partner, as well as computers seized from their shared apartment, which have been sent to Quantico for review. The bureau has yet to comment on whether the partner will face any charges.

The assassination occurred on September 10, when Kirk was shot dead while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities believe a single shot was fired from a rooftop approximately 200 yards away.
Moments before the shooting, Kirk was asked a question about transgender Americans and mass shootings, to which he replied, “Too many.” Kirk was then shot and killed, leaving behind his wife and two young children.
Further details on Robinson’s alleged motive have also emerged. The rifle believed to have been used in the shooting contained ammunition inscribed with “anti-fascist messaging,” a detail confirmed by Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. This detail, along with the timing of the assassination, has fueled speculation about the political nature of the crime.

The manhunt for Robinson ended when his father, who recognized his son from surveillance video made public by the FBI, turned him in to authorities.
Authorities said that Robinson arrived at his father’s home expressing a desire to kill himself. The father reportedly sought counsel from a minister before deciding to contact the authorities.
As the investigation continues, an FBI spokesperson stated that the bureau is “investigating a record number of tips,” adding that “every connection, every group, every link will be investigated and anyone involved in this matter, anywhere in the world they might be, will be brought to justice.”
The case, which has already sparked intense debate across the country, is expected to continue to unfold with new information in the coming days.
