A Kentucky man is behind bars this week following a delayed report of a harrowing Christmas Day incident involving drugged coffee and alleged intimidation. Shawn Asher, 38, of London, Kentucky, was taken into custody by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department and charged with second-degree assault after a woman came forward with lab results and a detailed account of domestic abuse.
According to the press release issued by Deputy David Dunn on Thursday, the investigation began on Monday when the victim reported an assault that occurred nearly two months prior.
The woman told investigators that on the morning of December 25, 2025, she was sitting in her home, drinking a cup of coffee and watching her child open holiday gifts. The peaceful scene reportedly took a dark turn when Asher allegedly told her she was “about to find out what he had done.”
The victim stated that Asher then confessed to lacing her morning coffee with methamphetamine. Furthermore, he allegedly admitted to planting needles inside her vehicle. Fearing for her safety and health, the woman sought medical attention the following day.

Lab work conducted at a local hospital on December 26 confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in her system, providing the physical evidence necessary for the recent charges.
The reporting officer noted that the victim expressed significant fear of Asher, citing a disparity in their physical size and a history of past violent behavior. She told deputies that Asher’s threats of bodily harm, combined with his recent actions, left her terrified of what he might do next.
Following the report and the verification of the medical records, authorities located and arrested Asher. He was transported to the Knox County Detention Center, where he remains lodged on the assault charge.
