NASHVILLE, TN. – An explosion in Downtown Nashville on Christmas morning, rocked the city and investigators say it may be intentional.
The explosion happened around 6:30 AM on Friday, damaging buildings and cars. As of 11 AM, only minor injuries were reported with 3 people transported to local hospitals.
Investigators say the explosion may have come from an RV that blew up in the area.
The area has been evacuated, fearful of more explosions.
Although authorities say they believe the blast was intentionally set, they have not suggested terrorism, domestic or foreign, but they do believe it was not an accident.
A police officer noticed the RV, which seemed suspicious, and notified the bomb squad. Reports say that the police went door to door to notify residents in the area. These keen actions saved lives.
An investigation is underway and we will update this story as details are released. The FBI will be updating media at 1 PM EST.
