Citrus County: 12-Year-Old Boy, Man, 46, Killed In Jeep Crash Saturday

CITRUS COUNTY, FL. – A 12-year-old Inverness Boy and 46-year-old Inverness man were killed in a crash Saturday that happened around 9:40 pm Saturday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man and the boy were traveling westbound on SR-44, east of South Marlene Point.

Troopers say that while attempting to change lanes, the driver lost control of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler which departed the roadway and entered the north shoulder where the vehicle struck a traffic sign, then overturned multiple times before coming to stop.

Investigators say that both occupants suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
