CITRUS COUNTY: 46-Year-Old Crystal River Man Killed Crossing US-19

CITRUS COUNTY, FL. – A 46-year-old Crystal River man was killed Thursday morning attempting to cross US-19, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Trooper say two vehicles were traveling southbound on US-19, approaching SE 8th Terrace, when the man walked westbound across the highway and into the path of the two vehicles.

According to investigators, the man was struck by an SUV and pickup truck in successive order and suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene.

The drivers, a 39-year-old Tampa man, and a 70-year-old Crystal River man, sustained no injuries.
