Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Coordinator Retires

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced the retirement of the Emergency Management Coordinator, Bretlee Jordan, after nearly 17 years of dedicated service to our community.

In 2004, Mr. Jordan began his career with CCSO as a Radiological Emergency Planning Coordinator. In this position, Mr. Jordan worked hand-in-hand with our local power company’s nuclear sector to ensure that plans were in place to keep our community safe.

After the close of the nuclear power program in 2015, Mr. Jordan began working as the Emergency Management Coordinator. Here, he assisted our Emergency Operations team with the management of multiple grants that helped to fund CCSO’s Emergency Management Section. Mr. Jordan also worked with the county’s long-term care facilities to ensure their emergency plans met state requirements.

Mr. Jordan has also made a long-lasting impact on the Citrus County community through his involvement in CCSO’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. During this program, Mr. Jordan was able to teach volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that impact our area and train them in basic disaster response skills.

“Bretlee has dedicated his career to demonstrating excellence in his commitment to the Citrus County community,” said Sheriff Prendergast. “It has been an honor to serve alongside Bretlee during my tenure as Sheriff and it is my hope that he enjoys a long and fulfilling retirement.”

“Please join us in wishing Mr. Jordan a very happy and healthy retirement,” said CCSO in a statement.
