Motorists Advised to Expect Delays on US 19, US 41, and SR 44 Due to Road Work
CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of lane closures in Citrus County scheduled for the week of September 21-27, 2025. These closures are necessary for ongoing road construction and maintenance projects. Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and to seek alternative routes if possible.
The most significant closures will affect major thoroughfares, including US 19, US 41, and State Road 44.
US 19 Motorists traveling on US 19 from S. Jump Court to W. Fort Island Trail should prepare for both daytime and nighttime disruptions. Periodic night lane closures will be in effect from Sunday, September 21, through Thursday, September 25, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Additionally, periodic day lane closures are scheduled from Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
US 41 Lane closures on US 41 from E. Grace Street to E. Hill Street are planned for the duration of the week. Drivers can expect closures nightly from Sunday, September 21, through Friday, September 26, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
SR 44 Commuters on SR 44 from US 41 to the Sumter County line (near the bridge over the Withlacoochee River) will face both day and night closures. Night lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, September 21, through Friday, September 26, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Day lane closures will also be in effect from Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
