CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers heading through Citrus County early next week should budget extra travel time, as road crews are scheduled to close lanes on a key stretch of U.S. 19 just days before the holiday.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has flagged the corridor between South Jump Court and West Fort Island Trail for maintenance work starting this Sunday.
Crews will be active during both overnight and daytime hours, potentially complicating commutes and last-minute shopping runs.

Officials are urging motorists to exercise caution when approaching the work zone, watch for construction crews, and anticipate slowing traffic during these windows.
