CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Road crews are planning some work that could slow down traffic on two major roads: US 19 and SR 44 (Main Street).
State officials released the schedule for the week of January 25 through January 31, 2026, and here is what you need to know to avoid getting stuck.
US 19: Day and Night Work
Expect to see orange cones on US 19 between S. Jump Court and W. Fort Island Trail. Crews will be working on the road periodically during both the day and the night.
- During the Day: Starting Monday, January 26, look out for lane closures between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This will go on through Friday, January 30.
- At Night: If you are driving late, watch for closures starting Sunday night, January 25. This work happens from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and wraps up Thursday morning, January 29.

SR 44 (Main Street): Night Work Only
There is also work planned for SR 44, specifically the stretch from Pleasant Grove Road to Montgomery Avenue.
Fortunately for daytime drivers, this is only happening at night. You might see lane closures starting Sunday night, January 25. The work is scheduled from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is expected to finish by early Thursday morning.
