City Of Tampa Employee Found Dead In Their Car Monday, Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound

TAMPA, FL. – The Tampa Police Department is working a death investigation at The City of Tampa Police and Fire Rescue Communication Center on E Henry Ave.

The deceased, a Tampa Fire Rescue dispatch employee, was found in their vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound just after 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.

“This morning, our TFR family suffered a loss within the Communications Division,” said Fire Chief, Barbara Tripp. “We are deeply saddened by this situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with this individual’s family during this difficult time. While our steadfast team shares a great sense of sorrow, we remain committed to providing service to the citizens of Tampa.”

Additional staff trained to deal with critical incidents remain on call to support employees.
