Clash In Florida: Border Czar Tom Homan Slams Senate Candidate Angie Nixon Over ICE Claims

Border czar Tom Homan firmly rejected claims by Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) racially profiles Black Americans, calling the allegation “ridiculous.”

Nixon, who recently won her primary race, has campaigned on abolishing ICE, ending detention centers, and stopping mass deportations. On a recent podcast, Nixon claimed ICE operates as a “weaponized paramilitary force” engaging in “state-sanctioned violence” against Black communities.

Speaking on Fox News “Saturday in America,” Homan defended the agency’s record and legal standards.

“We don’t arrest people based on the color of their skin. I’m actually an equal opportunity deporter,” Homan said. “If you’re in the country illegally, you will be deported, regardless of the color of your skin.”

Homan added that agents strictly follow the law, requiring reasonable suspicion for questioning and probable cause for arrests. He also argued that sanctuary city policies force dangerous street arrests rather than safe handoffs in detention facilities, increasing risks for both officers and communities.

The Department of Homeland Security strongly backed the agency, calling Nixon’s statements “disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE” and reiterating that enforcement focuses entirely on legal status, not race.
