THE BREAKDOWN: A Friday afternoon fire brought heavy flames to a Clearwater home on Arden Avenue. Fire crews quickly brought the blaze under control, reporting no injuries and successfully rescuing a pet from the property.
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Firefighters rushed to a residential neighborhood Friday afternoon to find a home heavily engulfed in smoke and flames.
Emergency dispatchers received calls just before 4 p.m. regarding a house fire located at 1304 Arden Ave. When Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews arrived on the scene, they encountered heavy fire actively pouring from the structure.
The responding crews immediately launched an aggressive attack on the blaze. Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, halting their spread before they could reach further into the building or neighboring properties. During the search-and-rescue operation, first responders located one pet inside the home and brought it out safely.
Officials confirmed that no residents, firefighters, or other emergency personnel suffered injuries during the incident. Clearwater Fire & Rescue was assisted at the scene by crews from Dunedin Fire Rescue and Largo Fire Rescue.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents who were displaced by the fire damage. As of Friday evening, investigators are still working to determine where the fire originated and exactly what triggered the initial blaze.
