Clearwater Fire Rescue: Four Escape, Three Pets Lost In Norwood Avenue House Fire

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A Clearwater family of four managed to safely escape their burning home early Saturday morning, though three family pets died in the blaze.

Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department personnel responded to the emergency call at 6:15 a.m. at 1184 Norwood Ave. According to first responders, the preliminary investigation indicates that the fire originated in the garage of the residence.

Two adults and two children were inside the home when the fire broke out, but they were able to evacuate the property on their own. Officials confirmed that none of the occupants sustained injuries. However, three cats died as a result of the fire.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown as the investigation continues. Fire officials announced that photos from the scene would be posted on the department’s social media accounts later this morning.
