Clearwater Firefighters Working Active Fire at Light of Christ Catholic Church

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Fire and Rescue responded to a working fire at Light of Christ Catholic Church at 2176 Marilyn St.

The fire call came in at 2:10 p.m. after a teacher reported smelling smoke coming from the parish building. The teacher alerted others and evacuated the teachers and students in the building. The fire appears to have started in a kitchen area of the Monsignor Alman Parish Hall.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The church and school buildings were not affected by the fire, according to officials, and there were no injuries to any of the building’s occupants or firefighters.
