“Each year, we publish this report to show the extensive testing we do to ensure water quality meets all federal and state requirements,” stated Richard Gardner, Director of Clearwater Public Utilities. “We’re proud to deliver safe, clean drinking water that our community can count on every day.”

The Safe Drinking Water Act, originally signed into law in 1974, empowers the EPA to set national health standards for drinking water and mandates that public water systems publish annual reports, known as Consumer Confidence Reports, to inform consumers about the quality of their tap water. This ensures that residents are well-informed about their water sources, detected contaminants, potential health effects, and the measures taken to maintain water safety.
