Clearwater Traffic Alert: US-19 Detour Set To Divert Wednesday Traffic

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A temporary detour will affect US 19 south of Northside Drive starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, through 4 a.m. Thursday, February 26.

The closure is required for crews to perform overhead sign structure work as part of the ongoing US 19 improvement project in Pinellas County.

Detour Routes:

  • Motorists must use SR 580 (Main Street) to either Belcher Road or McMullen Booth Road.
  • Travel to SR 586 (Curlew Road) to re-access US 19.
  • Medians will remain open for U-turns on both sides of the work zone.

Access and Safety:

  • Access for residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the night.
  • Electronic message boards and warning signs will be in place to guide traffic.
  • Drivers are advised to exercise caution and watch for construction personnel.
