Clicks To Courts: Arizona Social Media Influencer Indicted Over Alleged $1.2 Million Tax Cover-Up

A federal grand jury in Phoenix has indicted a local social media influencer for allegedly hiding more than $1.19 million in income from the IRS. Charles Lewis Davis, 33, pleaded not guilty in federal court on May 13, 2026, following a two-count indictment returned on April 21, 2026, for making false statements on his tax returns.

Davis operates Forever Investments LLC, a social media business that produces and publishes video content across platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. According to federal prosecutors, Davis intentionally misled his tax preparer to conceal substantial portions of his earnings over a two-year period.

The indictment states he failed to report $807,142 in 2020 and another $390,566 in 2021. Government officials allege that Davis funneled and stored this unreported income across various personal and business bank accounts, brokerage accounts, and cryptocurrency wallets.

The investigation was spearheaded by IRS-Criminal Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin M. Rapp of the District of Arizona handling the prosecution. If convicted on the charges of making a false statement on a tax return, Davis faces a maximum penalty of up to three years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

The Department of Justice noted that this case aligns with broader federal initiatives to protect taxpayer funds. On April 7, 2026, the DOJ established the National Fraud Enforcement Division, or “Fraud Division,” which specifically targets individuals committing fraud against the public.

This division operates alongside the administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, a comprehensive government effort chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance to root out fraud, waste, and abuse in federal benefit programs.
