CNN Analyst Claims She Misquoted Herself After Social Media Reacts To Her Call For Violent Crackdown On Canadian Truckers

CNN’s rating may not be in the tank because of multiple sex scandals, including perverse producers who seek sex with underage girls.

Rather, CNN’s nosedive might be attributable to hires like analysts like Juliette Kayyem.

Kayyem, who served as an assistant secretary in President Barack Obama’s Department of Homeland Security and lectures at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, called for violent action against the Canadian truckers who comprise the Freedom Convoy.

And she did so in the dumbest way possible.

“The convoy protest, applauded by right-wing media as a ‘freedom protest,’ is an economic and security issue now. The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada,” she tweeted.

Kayyem then added, “Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks.”

Moving the trucks might seem much more difficult after their tires are slashed, their gas tanks emptied, and their drivers in police custody – but hey, do you teach at Harvard?

Kayyem in a second tweet said, “Trust me, I will not run out of ways to make this hurt: cancel their insurance; suspend their drivers licenses; prohibit any future regulatory certification for truckers, etc. Have we learned nothing? These things fester when there are no consequences.”

Never mind that Canada, like the United States, faces a shortage of big-rig drivers – let’s punish people who drive for a living for exercising their right to free expression to send a message to possible trucking-industry recruits.

Of course, when the mockery ensued on social media for her comments, Kayyem maintained she was misquoted – by herself.

“Earlier today, I tweeted something that has been used by others to suggest I was promoting vigilantism. I was not,” she tweeted. “People have the freedom to protest. Governments have the responsibility to protect public safety. That was what I intended to say.”

But, obviously, in her blind liberal rage at people who defy the left-wing government, it was not actually what she said.

CNN is not sending their best.
