Ashley White, 29, has been found guilty of Second-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Second-Degree Murder, and Robbery in connection with the 2020 death of her boyfriend, Cody DeLisa, in Adams County. The verdict was reached after a three-week trial in Adams County District Court.

The case involved a complex series of events leading up to DeLisa’s murder. White and DeLisa had a tumultuous relationship, marked by tension and resentment. White’s frustration with her employment situation and an incident where she harmed DeLisa’s cat raised concerns about her mental state.

On August 13, 2020, after a job interview, White met a man on the bus who called himself “Scott.” She confided in him about her relationship with DeLisa, and they allegedly plotted to kill DeLisa. Upon arriving at White’s residence, “Scott” introduced himself to DeLisa as White’s brother. Shortly after, DeLisa was fatally shot. White and “Scott” then stole DeLisa’s wallet and fled.

Three years later, a woman claiming to be the girlfriend of Michael Stratton contacted authorities, stating she believed Stratton was the man involved in DeLisa’s murder. Stratton’s alleged confession matched White’s account of the events. Stratton, currently in custody for a separate murder in Pueblo, has been deemed incompetent to stand trial in that case and has not been charged in connection with DeLisa’s murder.

The trial against Ashley White began on January 6, 2025. After hearing nearly three weeks of testimony, the jury found her guilty.

“This was a tragic and senseless murder, and Ashley White bears significant culpability for it,” said District Attorney Brian Mason. “Her callous actions led to the victim’s death and now she will pay a significant price. I thank the jury, who endured three weeks of difficult testimony before reaching their verdict, as well as our law enforcement partners and my team at the DA’s Office for their diligent, hard work seeking justice in this case.”

Ashley White is scheduled to be sentenced on April 4, 2025.
