Confrontation In Spring Hill Over Loud Music Leads To Second-Degree Murder Charge

SPRING HILL, Fla. — A dispute over loud music turned deadly Tuesday afternoon in a Hernando County neighborhood, ending with one man dead and his neighbor behind bars on a murder charge.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at approximately 4:31 p.m. on April 7, 2026. A family member reported finding a man bleeding from his arm, though they were initially unsure what had happened. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, Hernando County Fire Rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures on the victim, later identified as 52-year-old Francis Biegaj.

Deputies quickly suspected foul play after discovering spent shell casings in the driveway and noting that Biegaj’s injury appeared to be a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Biegaj was rushed to a nearby medical facility but was later pronounced dead.

According to investigative reports, a witness told deputies they heard several gunshots. Upon walking outside, the witness reported seeing a man walking away from Biegaj’s home toward a nearby house while carrying what looked like a pistol.

The investigation led deputies to a home at 89 Gillian Circle. Authorities identified the resident as 51-year-old Tony Deuser. When occupants at the residence failed to respond to initial commands, the HCSO SWAT team and Crisis Response Team were called to the scene.

After further announcements from law enforcement, Deuser exited the house and was taken into custody without incident.

During questioning, Deuser reportedly told investigators he was upset with Biegaj because of loud music. Deuser stated that when Biegaj refused to turn the volume down and told him to leave the property, he fired two shots at the victim before walking back to his own home.

Deuser has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree. He was booked into the Hernando County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation remains active.
