PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A situation Tuesday afternoon at a Land O’ Lakes residential development turned chaotic when a workplace argument spiraled into a shooting, leaving one man hospitalized and a suspect on the run.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies rushed to the Wilton Way area around 1:50 p.m. following reports of shots fired at a local construction site. According to investigators, the violence wasn’t a random act but the result of a heated dispute between individuals who knew each other.
As the argument escalated, an adult male was shot. The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff confirmed his injuries are non-life-threatening.

By the time law enforcement arrived on the scene, the shooter had already fled the area on foot. Deputies immediately established a perimeter and began an active search for the individual, though no arrests have been made as of Tuesday evening.
While the heavy police presence caused a stir in the surrounding neighborhood, the Sheriff’s Office has moved to reassure the public that there is no broader threat to the community.
“This appears to be an isolated incident amongst known parties,” the agency stated in a preliminary release.
This is a developing story.
