COVID-19 Vaccine Preregistration is Now Available for 65+ in Citrus County

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – Today, the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) announced that the statewide preregistration system to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for individuals 65 and older and frontline health care workers, is now available to Citrus County residents.

Individuals can now be added to a waiting list for vaccine appointments and be notified when appointments are available in Citrus County by visiting myvaccine.fl.gov or by calling 866-201-0442.

“We are ecstatic to be a part of this new system and we know this has been highly anticipated and requested by our residents,” said DOH-Citrus Administrator Tito Rubio. “We want to thank everyone for their patience with us as we continue to distribute the vaccine out as quickly as we can, and we ask for more patience because supply will continue to be an issue,” said Rubio. “Residents will still have to wait for vaccines and appointments to become available, but we know this system will provide some peace of mind to our residents to know they made it on the list and that they will be getting a vaccine.”

This system will not impact tomorrow’s drive-thru vaccination clinic in Beverly Hills. The DOH-Citrus COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru for 65+ at Central Ridge District Park on Saturday, January 30, will still be provided on a first come, first served basis.

This website will allow individuals who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to be proactively contacted when vaccine appointments are available in the county. On the site, residents can select Citrus County and submit their contact information.

Once appointments are available, individuals will be contacted through the system (not by DOH-Citrus) by phone call, text or email and will be assisted in scheduling an appointment. Please do not call DOH-Citrus to check the status of your preregistration. When vaccines and appointments are available, you will be notified.

Vaccine supply remains limited and appointments may not be available for several weeks.

As part of the statewide preregistration system, each county has a designated number that individuals can call and pre-register with if they do not have Internet access.

Again, Citrus County’s designated number is 866-201-0442.

The statewide preregistration system also provides each county with a designated help line number. This help line will connect individuals directly with an operator an answer questions regarding the preregistration system.

Citrus County’s help line number is 833-476-1036.
