The United Nations World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development was Thursday May 21st. That same day, Crayola Crayons announced it’s new boxes of “Colors of the World”. These specially designed crayons will be sold in boxes of 24 representing over 40 skin tones from around the world. There also is a 32 count box that includes four hair colors and five eye colors.
“Colors of the World” crayons, the company said in a statement, includes 24 new crayons designed to mirror and represent over 40 different skin tones.
“With the world growing more diverse than ever before, Crayola hopes our new Colors of the World crayons will increase representation and foster a greater sense of belonging and acceptance,” said Crayola CEO Rich Wuerthele ”We want the new Colors of the World crayons to advance inclusion within creativity and impact how kids express themselves.”
The new crayons will be exclusive to Walmart and available in July.
